10th Anniversary Game Celebrates a Decade of Athletic and Soldier Excellence
Ten of Nation’s Top Juniors Already Confirmed for Game
(Wharton, New Jersey) March 17, 2009 – The U.S. Army All-American Bowl today announced the 2010 game will take place on Saturday, January 9th, at 1:00 PM (ET). 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the game. It will be played in San Antonio’s Alamodome and broadcasted live on NBC. Ten of the nation’s top-ranked juniors have already committed to play.
Throughout the past decade, the game has featured the nation’s most elite football players and honored more than 300 of the most committed Soldier Heroes. It has been a launching pad for college and NFL stars such as Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Tim Tebow and Terrelle Pryor, as well as a platform for Soldiers and Non-Commissioned Officers of the Year. In addition to more than 400 NCAA athletes, the game has more than 90 alumni currently playing in the NFL.
“For 10 years, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl has provided the national platform for young adults to reflect the strength of Army Strong Soldiers,” said Colonel David Lee, Director of Marketing, U.S. Army Accessions command. “The Army is proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the All-American Bowl and to continue to showcase the talents and strengths of the athletic, musical and Soldier Elite participants.”
Already confirmed for the 2010 game are the following top-ranked juniors: Markeith Ambles (Henry County High) McDonough, GA; Dillion Baxter (Mission Bay High) San Diego, CA; Robert Crisp (Chapel Hill High) Chapel Hill, NC; Michael Dyer (Little Rock Christian High) Little Rock, AR; Jake Heaps (Skyline High) Sammamish, WA; Malcolm Jones (Oaks Christian High) Westlake, CA; Marcus Lattimore (Byrnes High) Duncan, SC; Christian Lombard (Fremd High) Palatine, IL; Chris Martin (Bishop O’Dowd High) Oakland, CA; and Lache Seastrunk (Temple High) Temple, TX.
The U.S. Army All-American Bowl has continued to grow and remains one of the nation’s premiere high school athletic events. The 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl drew a crowd of more than 32,000 to the Alamodome on January 3rd, garnering a 1.7 U.S. household rating on NBC. The Bowl was the highest-rated sports event of the weekend other than the NFL Playoff games.
