GMiS Viva Tech
Hispanic Partnerships
The U.S. Army will serve as a sponsor at the 2010 Great Minds in STEM (GMiS) Viva Technology Local Student Program in Los Angeles. Viva Technology is designed to engage inner-city and rural K-12 students, teachers and parents in the applications of technology in order to stimulate interest and academic achievement in math, science and engineering, thereby laying the foundation for students to select and succeed in college and university degree programs leading to careers in science, engineering and technology. GMiS was originally established in 1989 as HENAAC to identify, honor, and document the contributions of outstanding Hispanic American science, engineering, technology and math professionals.
