Brigadier General Jeffrey Dorko
Brigadier General Jeffrey J. Dorko assumed command of the Gulf Region Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baghdad, Iraq on Oct. 10, 2007. His previous assignment was commander of the Southwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from June 2004 to August 2007. Brig. Gen. Dorko oversaw 3,000 engineering and construction professionals in the Dallas-based headquarters and four district offices located in Little Rock, Ark., Tulsa, Okla., and Fort Worth and Galveston, Texas.
Prior to this assignment, Brig. Gen. Dorko served as the Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center and Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., from July 2002 to June 2004.
Brig. Gen. Dorko graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1978. He later received a master's degree in construction management from George Washington University and another in national security strategy from Industrial College of the Armed Forces. His military education includes the Engineer Officers Basic and Advanced Courses and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He was born in Sandusky, Ohio and is married with one child.
