Lieutenant Colonel (Dr.) Manuel Marién graduated from the University of Oklahoma, College of Dentistry in 1994 and joined the U.S. Army, as a Dental Corps officer. Through the Army, he attended a one year advanced education in general dentistry residency at Fort Campbell, KY. Upon completion of this residency he was assigned to Fort Hood, Texas as a general dentist. In 1998 he began training in Pediatric Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, TX. After several years, he returned to Fort Hood where he assumed duties as Chief, Pediatric Dentistry and Mentor in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry two year program.
Since 2002, Dr. Marién has been responsible for organizing an annual humanitarian mission to Honduras to provide pediatric dentistry support in the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa. This humanitarian mission helps thousands of elementary school children in need and also serves as a training tool for young dental residents assigned to the AEGD-1 programs at Fort Sill, OK and Fort Carson, CO.
